Day 19

Argent- In Deep

The only song I knew by Argent before buying this record was "Hold Your Head Up". That song isn't on this record, but I picked this up because I had only known KISS' version of "God Gave Rock And Roll To You". Like most originals, Argent's version is much better.
I also had no idea that Russ Ballard was in this band. I always thought he was just a producer/songwriter.
Argent was just one of those bands that I missed out on. I guess a lot of people did.

Anyhow, I think this is a really cool album that I've listened to a couple of times before. It's just great early 70's British Rock. Not quite sure why they didn't get more popular than they did. Maybe it has to do with Russ Ballard splitting in 1974. One of my favorite songs on this record is "Be Glad" which kicks off Side 2 and is also the longest song on the album coming in at over 8 minutes. Really cool Rod Argent piano solo on this tune.
Even songs like "Christmas For The Free" that I thought I'd hate based on the title is a cool song.
Definitely keeping and will be listening to this record again. I'd recommend you pick it up if you like the 70's rock and roll. I need to get more Argent.

Ataulfo Argenta conducting The London Symphony Orchestra- Espana Volume 2

I don't know the first thing about classical music, but it's always intrigued me and would love to have the time to learn more about it. So anytime I come across a copy in a grab bag, I usually hold onto it. This is one of them.

It's a nice record. Classical is just really interesting to listen to. I've never heard of this conductor, but I read that he was one of Spain's best. I dunno, shit just sounds good to me.!
I'm not going to say much else, because I'm a classical idiot and would just make a fool of myself if I tried talking about it. They need to have a classical music informal class at the community college.
