Well it's Tuesday and normally I don't do my blog on Tuesdays since it's the only day of the week I work at Waterloo Records and it makes my day 15 hours long. But driving home from said blog, I thought well I can make Tuesdays "45" days. I'm too tired to listen to a whole album, but I still check the interwebs to see what's going on, so why not listen to two 45's while I'm doing that?
So tonight I'm listening to David Bazan's "Man in Me" b/w "Hallelujah" first. I never really got into Pedro The Lion although plenty of friends told me I'd dig them. I got this as a promo item at Waterloo. Really good lil' record. "Man in Me" is Dylan's and you know "Hallelujah". He does a really good version of both. I'd be down to get more Bazan stuff. Would really like to hear his own stuff now since these are both covers.
Next is a Black Crowes promo 45 I also got at Waterloo. This one has them doing a cover of Little Feat's "Willin'" and Ry Cooder's "Boomer's Story". Both are really cool because it doesn't sound like typical Black Crowes. And I don't mean that harshly. I dig the Crowes. I know they are going into hiatus and all, but if they came back and did a whole album like this, I'd be all over it. I want to play this record over again right now. Apparently these are bonus tracks on the Croweology retrospective. Check it out if you can't get a copy of this promo.
Ok cool, that didn't take long. Good idea for a tired Tuesday night.
