Day 95

Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers- Rumble

As soon as I put this one on, I started thinking about what albums I have owned at one time or another on vinyl, cassette, and cd. This was one of them.

I often think back to the summer of 1988 as being one of my favorite summers ever. Just had a great group of friends to hang out and get in trouble with, and this along with a few others, served as the soundtrack. Pretty funny that I probably haven't listened to this album in almost 20 years and I'm still singing along to each song.

Anybody from Dallas that's my age probably remembers the Monday night Dallas Alley free concerts in the West End. Got to see these guys at one of them. Those shows were the best and saw a lot of the bands I was into during those days there. It was great to for us 15 and 16 year olds that we could go see these bands without having the trouble of getting into a club. And we always met the bands after the shows. I don't remember why they stopped having those shows there. Seems like after Van Hagar did one in 1991 it all went bye-bye. Too bad.

Well for those of you who don't know who this is, I'd recommend them if you like good late 80's bar band rock n' roll. They were one of the best.

Just looked up their website and good to see that they are still playing together. Doing a show this Saturday as a matter of fact. I would love to be able to see that.

  1. Nice review. TCYR just played last month at the Electric Factory. They don't play all the time, but they still rock! Found this 'cause I was researching their performance here in Dallas...thanks!
