Bob Dylan- The Witmark Demos 1962-1964
Finally back after a rather busy four day layoff from this blog. Jessica's brother was visiting us from Kansas City, so not only were we quite busy doing this, that, and the other with him around town, he was also sleeping in my music room so I wouldn't have had a chance to listen to a record even if I had wanted to. But we did have a good time even though the weather didn't cooperate. If any of you are fans of the SyFy channel, I recommend you watch Mega Python vs. Gatoroid starring Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. Terribly brilliant. We went and saw the theatrical premiere at the Alamo on Saturday night. I think it's on SyFy later this month.
If you didn't realize it already, this is a four lp Dylan collection of his demos from 1962-1964. It is an interesting listen. Especially listening to his better known hits in their infancy stages. But I got to admit, listening to 48 Bob Dylan demos can be pretty tiring. After a while, they all sound the same. The other thing too is that I prefer 70's era Dylan to his early stuff. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I own it and will re-visit this box set again, but next time around it will be one lp a week. I can really only recommend this for Dylan completists or freaks. I'm sure @ro_bot_dylan already owns it.
That does it for the letter "D". It seems like it took me a really long time to get through that letter. Bands I'm missing are Devo, Dimmu Borgir, Danzig, 80's era Depeche Mode, Diamond Head, Dinosaur Jr, Donovan, and one of the few hip hop dudes I like, Dr. Dre.
Ok, back to Season 2 of Parks and Recreation. Great show.
