Steve Earle- Exit O
Love me some Steve Earle. I've been a fan since his third album, Copperhead Road, came out in 1988. It was through that album that I discovered his first album Guitar Town and this one, his second. When those two albums first came out, I was nowhere ready to admit that country could be cool. But Copperhead Road might be the most metal country album ever so he became cool to me. I'll get more into that tomorrow.
This album has some real gems on it and you just want to turn it up super loud. Too bad it's almost midnight. Absolutely love album opener "Nowhere Road" and Side 1 closer "San Antonio Girl", but the best two songs on the albums are the first two songs on Side 2, "The Rain Came Down", and "I Ain't Ever Satisfied". Goddamn, listening to this album right now and I just want to hop in a car and hit the highway for a drive. Heartfelt Americana from the 80's does that to me more than any other form of music. Like it was made for the road. See for yourself if you don't know what I'm talking about.
I love it when you find the original videos on youtube:
