Fleet Foxes- Fleet Foxes
Sorry for missing a post last night. Softball season is about to start up and we had a scrimmage last night. It was the first time I've picked up a bat since October. Man, I am so sore today!
I think it's ok for me to miss at least one day a week. It keeps me from burning out, and it really was nice last night to come home from the softball game and relax on the couch and watch the UT basketball game I DVR'd. How 'bout those Horns, huh?
I'm actually about to get incredibly busy for at least the next 6 months between my job, planning a wedding and some other ventures I have going on. I hope to still have time to do this blog. It's a personal challenge to myself to see if I can really pull it off.
On to the Fleet Foxes...
Dad, you would probably really like this stuff. It's just really good folk-pop from Seattle. At least check out the video I'll be adding. I don't think I need to tell anyone else that reads this blog about the Fleet Foxes. Everyone else knows them well enough all ready, right? Cool thing about this vinyl is that it includes their second ep, Sun Giant. Bonus.
I'm not really an ACL Fest guy (too hot and crowded), but for some reason I seem to end up there every year. I mention this because of all the years going to ACL, the Fleet Foxes were hands down the best band I've ever seen play the festival. They played on Saturday and were the first band up at noon. What was so refreshing about them is that they genuinely seemed nervous about playing in front of 40,000 people and made a few comments about not really being a "festival" band, yet they sounded great. Plus, they were funny as shit. I'm looking forward to seeing them in a much smaller venue (Stubbs) in May.
