The first of five (maybe six) nights of Foreigner. I'm fine with that. All there albums were pretty damn good until Agent Provocateur came out. But yes, I do have that also.
I think Foreigner are another one of those bands that get a bad rap now because the last big album they had was such shit. It's like they aren't forgiven for having a huge hit with, "I Want To Know What Love Is", which really isn't that bad of a tune. But it was so huge I think people tend to forget that Foreigner had some kick ass rockers like "Feels Like The First Time", "Cold As Ice", and "Long Long Way From Home" which are all off of this debut album.
Those three songs alone make this album ownership worthy. And when you add a killer soulful number like "Fool For You Anyway", it makes it that much better. There is some crap on here though. I have no idea what they were thinking with, "Starrider". Terrible song. It's like they were trying to appeal to prog rock and Deep Purple fans. It's so bad, it's worth listening to again just to make fun of it.
Other than that, solid debut album for a band that would go on to sell more than 70 million albums worldwide. Bet you didn't know that about Foreigner did you?
