Don Henley- Building The Perfect Beast
Unlike last night's Don Henley album, this album's Side 2 really blows huge chunks. The whole album pretty much sucks besides "Boys Of Summer" and "You're Not Drinking Enough".
Even the other singles, "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" (which always sucked) and "Sunset Grill" suck. And if you want to hear a truly terrible song, listen to the title track, "Building The Perfect Beast". I was ready bang my head against a wall if that song went on a second longer.
Henley shouldn't have given so much leeway to Danny Kortchmar. This album is basically a Kortchmar solo album but with Don Henley on lead vocals.
It's too bad too because he has a lot of big time players on this record. Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Patty Smyth, and Lindsey Buckingham to name a few.
I wonder if a lot of people bought this album in 1984 just because of "The Boys Of Summer" and when they got home, felt like they were duped. Glad I didn't pay hardly anything for it. And no, I'm not keeping it. You want it?
