Iron Maiden-The Number Of The Beast
This was the first album my brother and I bought on vinyl. We had no idea who Iron Maiden were. He thought the album cover was awesome and 9 year old Bobby played along when actually this album cover scared the shit out of me. I mean, c'mon. Look at it. It kinda still scares me.
But make no mistake about it, this is one of the most classic metal albums of all time. Not a bad song on the album. Hell, I don't think Maiden put out a bad song throughout the 80's.
I can't really say what is the best song on this album. Of course the most well known songs, "The Number of the Beast" and "Run to the Hills" are fantastic, but so is "Invaders"', "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and "Children of the Damned". I think the only thing missing from this album is Nicko on drums. Sorry Clive, not knocking you at all, I just love me some Nicko! Besides that, it gets an A+ in my book.
Oh and funny story. While I was listening to this, Jessica asked me what letter I was up to. Shockingly, I replied, "This is Iron Maiden". She said, "Like I know Iron Maiden. Sounds like Van Halen to me". Hahahahahaha! Silly girl.
