Iron Maiden- Powerslave
I'm kinda at that point now where I don't know what else to say about Maiden without sounding like a broken record. So like I said last night, I had a hard time deciding which record was better between this one and Piece of Mind.
Hell, I might have already changed my mind and go with this one instead. I'm done listening to the album as I type this and I'm looking at all the song titles on the back cover and really, all these songs are fantastic. "Aces High", "2 Minutes To Midnight", "Back in the Village", and "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner"? C'mon, this is like a Greatest Hits record! And one of my favorite instrumentals ever is on here: "Losfer Words (Big 'Orra)".
Hell, can't forget "Powerslave" too. Man, the 80's were just an incredible run for this band. Who else in metal had this kind of run of consecutive awesome albums? Sure there's Metallica, but the Black album is debatable as awesome. Priest screwed up when they released Turbo, so they're out. The more I think about it, the only band that comes to mind is Megadeth. They had a great run.
