Days 401-404

Thanks to my brother for letting me have a good chunk of his record collection including 3 of these Metallica records. It would have been four, but his copy of Ride The Lightning was only the jacket. Bummer.

Metallica- Kill 'Em All

My brother and I first heard Metallica when we heard "For Whom The Bells Toll" on Q102 in Dallas. He got hooked on Metallica quicker than I did and he bought that record first and then went back and got this one. Jim is 4 years older than me so he "got it" more than I did. I was 10 and still listening to more pop oriented stuff, but I wanted to be accepted amongst him and his friends so I pretended to totally be into it as well. Once I got older and more into music, I started to really like this record more.

Metallica-Master of Puppets

I still say that this is the greatest metal record of all time.

Metallica- ...And Justice For All

I think this album gets overlooked sometimes because it came out after Puppets and before they mega selling Black album even though it has "One" on it. Great record and the first time I had a chance to see Metallica live. It was the 1988 Monsters of Rock tour with Kingdom Come, Dokken, Scorpions, and Van Halen. Metallica ruled the day.

Metallica- Death Magnetic

Eventually I'll get all of the Metallica records on vinyl (even St Anger). I'm not even sure how I ended up with this one. I sure don't remember buying it. Good record, but I just don't have the relationship with it like I have their 80's material. I need to give it more spins to really appreciate it.
